Business Consulting From An Operator — Not A Slide Deck

Most consulting engagements end with a deck no one acts on. I work as an outside operator — diagnosing what's actually stuck, recommending what to do next, and (when you want) building it with you.

What this engagement covers

Business consulting here means an honest, operator-level look at your business: strategy, focus, sales motion, marketing, operations, team structure, systems, and where the bottlenecks really are. The output is a clear plan and a sequencing of bets — not a 60-slide artifact.

I work best with owners, founders, and leadership teams who want pushback, not validation. Most engagements start with a paid discovery, move into a specific scope of work, and either end clean or evolve into ongoing fractional operator support.

The work is always grounded in numbers — revenue mix, margin, conversion math, capacity, hiring cost — not opinions. If a recommendation can't survive a P&L conversation, it doesn't ship.

  • Current-state diagnostic across strategy, sales, ops, team
  • Growth plan with focus, sequencing, and bet sizing
  • Sales, marketing, ops, hiring, and systems recommendations
  • Optional build phase where I implement what was scoped
  • Optional fractional operator engagement post-project
  • Outside-operator pushback in leadership meetings

How a consulting engagement runs

01

Discovery

Paid intro session — get on the same page about the business, the goals, and where it's actually stuck.

02

Diagnostic

Numbers first. Revenue, margin, motion, capacity, leverage points. Honest read of what's working.

03

Plan

Focus, sequencing, and the bets worth making in the next 6–18 months. Sized to your stage and capacity.

04

Decisions

Working sessions with leadership to lock the plan and turn it into ownable action.

05

Build (optional)

When the plan needs systems, software, or a sales motion built, I build it with you instead of handing over the deck.

06

Operating rhythm

Install the meeting cadence, KPIs, and accountability that keeps the plan executed.

Examples of this work

Anonymized examples of engagements that fit this scope. Names and identifying details withheld.

Owner stuck at a ceiling

Profitable business stuck at the same revenue for years. Diagnostic surfaced an undefined sales motion and no operating rhythm. Built a real pipeline, installed weekly forecasting, and added one hire. Broke through the ceiling within two quarters.

Leadership team in circles

Multi-million-dollar business with leadership debating the same decisions every quarter. Installed a decision framework and a real operating cadence. Stopped re-litigating the past, started executing the plan.

Pivot decision

Founder considering a major pivot. Spent two weeks pressure-testing the case, the assumptions, and the downside. Recommended a focused validation experiment instead of a full pivot. The experiment killed the wrong path before the company committed to it.
